Royal Flush
Published by Rick on Thursday, May 14, 2009.Playwright Tara Summers' mother, Nona, was born under a gaming table. Nona’s mother was a world class poker player and very pregnant. She went into labour when she was dealt a royal flush and chose to play the hand rather than go immediately to hospital.
She explained she was excited about having a child, but adamant that nothing was going to get in the way of playing such a rare hand. (The odds of being dealt a royal flush are 649,739 to 1.)
